Yellow roses weren't even discovered until the 18th century, since before that time shades from white to red were the only ones available. In Texas the yellow rose has a special place in the hearts of many. The song, "The Yellow Rose of Texas" refers to a woman inspiring feelings of passion when a yellow rose is given.
